A Fragile Heart

When I got back to my apartment, I found a bunch of flowers on my doorstep&ldots;
I picked them up, 11 roses, red ones&ldots;
I went in and put them in water, and discovered that there was no card&ldots;
Then there was a knock at the door, I went to see who it was, it was Nicky with the 12th rose and the card&ldots;
"Hi," I said,
"Hey, these are to say thanks for last night!"
"You didn’t need to&ldots;"
"No, I wanted to, I mean I’ve spent the last hour talking with Georgina&ldots;we’ve split up on mutual grounds, she’s flying back to Dublin tonight&ldots;"
"I know, she had a chat with me too, before she talked to you&ldots;"
"She mentioned it, she wishes us luck!"
"She was really nice to me, not like another person, who had a go at me&ldots;"
"Gillian?"
"Yeah!"
"Its none of her goddamn business&ldots;she means nothing to us, or Shane, but a weird groupie, who seems to be following us around, claiming stuff"
"I told her that, but she wouldn’t listen&ldots;"
"She kept butting in, when I was talking with Georgina&ldots;"
"I mean, I was feeling really happy after Georgina left, cos of the things she said, and then Gillian got me annoyed&ldots;"
"Look, I didn’t come here to discuss those two, I came cos I wanted to see you, and to ask you to dinner, and a drink afterwards in the bar&ldots;"
"Nicky, I graciously accept and no more will be said about those two.."
"Ah, good&ldots;&ldots;." Nicky said, as he pulled me close for a kiss&ldots;
I felt like I was floating on air. I was loving every second that Nicky’s lips were on mine, knowing that he was giving all his love to me&ldots;
Nicky had to get back to the hotel for a meeting, but he left the card for the flowers&ldots;I waited till he had left to open it&ldots;
"Love is like memories that lay forgotten on the bottom of the ocean. Once you discover it, you’ll have endless joy and precious moments forever&ldots;"
I was so touched by this message, I couldn’t believe that Nicky had wrote it himself. It had the ‘titanic’ theme to it, which was so romantic&ldots;
I couldn’t wait till tonight, to be with him again&ldots;Tonight was gonna be very weird, not having to make sure we weren’t spotted together, like previous days, and being together in public&ldots;
I thought I’d have a bath to relax myself, so I started running it&ldots;when my phone rang&ldots;
"Hello," I said, switching off the taps.
"Eilidh, its Fee. I just had Gillian on the phone!" said the voice.
"Oh yes?"
"She just told me that you’ve managed to split up Nicky and Georgina.."
"She’s such a freaking liar, I’ve done nothing of the sort&ldots;"
"According to her, you have, and she’s getting Shane to help get them back together&ldots;"
"Oh, just what I need, Saintly Shane to come and mend the pieces of the broken couple!"
"Hahaha, yeah she seems dead serious about it&ldots;"
"I don’t care what she does, I’m not bothered about it&ldots;"
"Okies, I better get going, catch ya later&ldots;"
"Yeah, see ya&ldots;"
I continued to run my bath, I needed to be relaxed, I was still a bit stressed over the who Gillian-interfering business. I just wished she’d mind her own business.
As I lay in the bath, the water was so nice and relaxing, which was good&ldots;
