Here and Now
Part 6
I lay there on the bed, feeling sad. Eilidh was
probably far away now. Who knows what she's thinking!
There's this light knock on the door.
I go to answer it, expecting it to be Eilidh, but
after what just happened, I don't think so somehow. It's Bryan.
"Nix, what the heck happened? Eilidh's
really upset." Bryan says.
"What??? She's still in the hotel?" I
say with relief.
"Yeah, she's with Kerry and Molly. But I
wouldn't go near her. She was really upset."
"Why is G doing this? Ruining my life!"
"Nix, I don't have the answers to that! but
I do know that E thinks that G will get her way, and she'll be
nothing but a has-been, left to live her life alone without you. She
knows that she can never replaced the memories that you and G had,
but all she wants is the truth."
"But what if I don't say the things she
wants to hear? Then what? Do I lose her as a friend, as a lover."
"Nix, tell her exactly what's in your heart!"
"Thanks Bryan, shall we go then?" I
said, walking towards the door.
"Yeah."
"Bryan, where have you been? oh hello
Nicky." Kerry said, standing up.
"Hey Kerry," I said.
"She's in there," whispered Kerry,
pointing to the other bedroom.
I walked in quietly and saw Eilidh sitting there,
holding Molly, and reading to her. Molly looked up and saw me, and
started smiling.
"Hey Molly!" I said, with a smile.
"Hi!" molly said, running off to see
her mam and dad.
"Eilidh." I started to say.
"Nicky, let me go first. I'm sorry for
running out before. I just needed to get out of there. I think the
presence of Georgina was too much for me, after last night. So I came
to see Kerry and then Molly wanted a story so I said I'd read it to
her, to leave Bry and Kez alone. How did you know where I was?"
she said, confused.
"Bryan came to see me, to tell me how you
felt. I wanted to see you, to tell you that I could never ever live
without you." I said, sitting down next to her.
"I want that too, but if G keeps trying to
split us up then how can we go on."
"Well, I'm gonna take a risk. I'm gonna meet
up with her dad, to explain the situation, and hopefully he can shed
some light on the matter."
"So, what I'm saying is that I really love
Eilidh, but we can't move on with our lives, cos of Georgina seems to
be set on winning me back." I said, sitting there in the
presidential suite of the hotel.
"Nicky, I understand. I don't know what
Georgina is trying to do." Bertie Aherne said.
"Dad???" Georgina's voice said.
"In here." Said Bertie.
"Dad, Nicky, what a lovely surprise. I'm not
interrupting anything am I?" Georgina says, sitting next to me.
"Ah, no. Nicky was just telling me some very
disturbing news, which I'm not impressed with."
"What news is that?"
"That you've been stalking him and his new
girlfriend, spreading vicious lies that Nicky has supposedly said
about her to her."
"Dad, I can explain."
"Georgie, it's time to move on, dear! Let
Nicky live his life with who he wants."
"BUT Dad, I want Nicky!!!!!!!" G said, loudly.
"Excuse me, I think I've been here too long.
Thank you for listening Bertie. I wish it could have been on happier
matters, but it wasn't. Goodbye!" I said, walking towards the door.
"How did it go?" Eilidh said, lying on
the bed, when I walked into our room.
"Good, that's more like it, you look more
yourself." I said, smiling.
"Well, I had a nice chat with Kerry after
you left, and I realised that in order to live my life, I needed to
forget what G told me and just move on!!"
"Well, what do you want to do tonight?"
Just then, a piece of paper was slipped under the door.
"Nicky and Eilidh are requested to attend a
private dinner party in the Penthouse Restaurant.
Please be there at 6.30pm"
"Hmmm, I wonder who's behind this." I
said, studying the note.
"I don't know!" Eilidh said, looking at
the invite.
We had 5 hours to go till the mysterious dinner
party, and we were sitting on the bed, throwing ideas on the host or hosts!
"I know, it's Bryan and Kerry idea. She's
probably Pregnant again."
"She didn't look like it to me."
"Um, is it anyone's birthday??" I said.
"I don't think so." Eilidh said,
thinking of everyone's birth dates!
"Oh well, we'll find out when we get there."
