A few hours later, my mobile rang, I quickly located my phone in the pitch black and turned my light on. I glanced at the clock, it was 2.00am so I sat up in bed " hello?" I said quietly.
" oh god, did I wake you? sorry but I just needed to hear your voice and tell you something!" he replied seeming a bit happier than a few hours before.
" yeah you did&ldots; But I hadn’t been asleep long" I replied still half asleep.
" I completely forgot the time difference as it’s 10pm here and well, the reason I rang was that I just performed one of my songs tonight, as Shane had lost his voice so we had to do a quick change of songs, and well I said that I can perform one of my songs as I had everything with me, and all the time, I sang, I had you in my mind along with in my heart" he said in a very happy voice.
" that’s so cool, which one was it? ‘you are that all I need?" I asked hoping cos this was my favourite song out of the three that I had heard.
"yip, I was a bit worried as I didn’t know how the crowd would take it, but they absolutely loved it! Hopefully now it will be on the album." He replied.
" so does Louis know about this?" I asked.
" um, well yeah, him and Ronan were actually here for the concert and Ronan said that the song was absolutely brilliant, and Louis said it could be a hit, but needed a bit of work, maybe bringing either mark or Shane into the song!" he said.
" but it’s your song, you wrote it, did you not tell him this??" I asked upset with the fact that the song Nicky wrote could be changed.
"Yeah, I did, but you know what Louis’s like, I mean if it needs the lead vocals changed on it, he’ll change it! He doesn’t see me as a strong singer." he replied angrily.
"I think you are, I mean those 3 songs on that tape were proof that you have a strong voice!" I replied, and then realising it was 2.50am.
"yeah well, I gonna go as I’m about to have a bath to help me relax and then it’s bed for me as well, so I’ll let you get back to sleep, sorry for waking you, but I just felt like ringing you with the news. Well, bye Eilidh, sleep well, and I’ll talk to you later, ok?" And then he hanged up. Eilidh fell asleep quite soon, and drifting into a pleasant sleep. Later that morning, as I was checking my emails on my laptop, I noticed an e-mail from SM:TV that was important, I sat there, thinking, hmm how did they get my e-mail address? I opened it and it was about their valentine theme show, and they wanted me to fly over and surprise Nicky as Westlife were gonna be on that day, they offered to paid for everything, and so I quickly replied " yes, I would" and later that week I received all the documents that I needed to fly to the UK.
As the 10th of February approached, I was nervous, I mean I had flown by myself before anywhere, but the fact that I was flying to the UK to see Nicky, made it exciting yet nerve-wracking!
As I stepped off the plane at Heathrow on Saturday, and went through customs and collected my luggage, as made my way to the arrival lounge. When I got through the doors, I was quickly greeted by Mandy, one of SM:TV assistants, and she led me to the awaiting car and we drove to the hotel, where I would stay! It was 6.30am and I had a quick shower and got changed and then it was off to the studios for the show. When I arrived, I was greeted by Cat Deeley, who was very nice and then it was off to make-up for the show. I was to be in a room, which was made to look like somewhere in NZ, and they would do a live link to ‘New Zealand’ and I would wish Nicky a happy valentines! And then walked on later to really surprise him. But as luck would have it, some of the Westlife lads had spotted me in the hotel, and they didn’t tell Nicky.
So the show started, and Westlife were the only guests on it, and so Cat said, "Nicky we have a little surprise for you, we are going to go direct to New Zealand, where someone is standing by to wish you a happy valentines day" Nicky was speechless as he watched me on the screen " hiya nix, as you know its Valentines day soon, I just wanted to say that I love you and that you to me are everything, I will talk to you soon, take care, le gra go deo Eilidh" and I blew him a kiss!
The video seems real enough for Nicky to believe until Kian said innocently " Nicky, what would you do, if Eilidh was not in Nz, but somewhere in this building?" Nicky replied, "what? Do you mean she’s here? Here in the UK?" at that moment, I had no choice but to walk onto the set. As Nicky saw me, his eyes filled with emotion, I knew that he was surprised to see me so I kissed him, and gave him a red rose! Then we all sat down and chatted for a while, and then it was time for the boys to perform and the song they performed was a cover of "love me for a reason" which made me laugh as it was Nicky and Shane singing, and Westlife were mimicking the original boyzone version, with the full dance routine, and well you guess it, the ever famous ‘gatelywiggle’ which Shane seemed to do very well! When Shane got to that bit in the song, I was like, oh no, there goes the hands, and then he did it! I was so shocked, that Shane ever attempted it!
After they finished, they came back and chatted for a bit longer until it was the end of the show, and then it was back to the hotel, where I found out that I was actually on the same floor as Westlife! So we just sat there in Mark’s room as that was the tidiest out of the lads and chatted until Ronan arrived. I had met Ronan before in New Zealand, along with Yvonne and Jack, so it was nice to catch up with him again. Him and the lads were heading off to Ireland in a few hours and asked if would I like to come with them? I immediately said yes!
A few hours later, we landed in Dublin, which looked beautiful as ever, and we all headed off to Nicky’s house where Nicky’s family were waiting&ldots;&ldots;..
